MICHAEL KEEGAN
1980-81 World Trade Council Traveling Fellowship Fellow
Michael’s fellowship was a study of 24 developing countries on four continents. The Keegan Fellowship is currently given annually in his name, after he secured an anonymous endowment that would guarantee the Traveling Fellowship program on an annual basis.

Michael is President at People For the American Way, progressive advocacy organizations founded to fight right-wing extremism and build a democratic society that implements the ideals of freedom, equality, opportunity and justice for all.
Michael has a rich background in progressive activism, particularly in the area of LGBT equality. He is a founding national board member of The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD).
Michael received his MBA in International Business and Entertainment Management from Columbia University. At Vanderbilt, he was President of the Student Body.
